Working with respect to rule ISO9001 also means guaranteeing our own clients that every

single product is subjected to strict testing procedures.

Electra employs many of its resources for the purchasing and creation of more and more competent testing systems, so much so that, presently every product is subjected to an adeguate mix of the following testing types:

- In-Circuit with bed of needles

- In-Circuit with mobile probes

- functional with specific software and hardware

- functional in thermal room

- edging test

- programmable Burn-In tests

- mechanical tests.

In-Circuit with bed of needles

Top

Electra has prepared in advance bed of needles' structures opportunely interfaced towards a personal computer or specific instrumentation. This allows for functional non-invasive inspections and at the same time inspections on more boards.

In-Circuit with mobile probes

Top

Many of the products created by Electra undergo an In-Circuit testing phase through a mobile probes system allowing the testing of each single component (if reachable).

The following tests are carried out:

- continuity

- short circuit

- welding

- tolerance towards nominal value

- functional type (i.e. table lie detector).

With the help of a repair station, boards which do

not pass the In-Circuit testing are immediately

taken out and repaired.

Testing programs are internally developed by qualified staff.

The mobile probes machine is also equipped with a series of capacitate probes; which through high frequency impulses is able to verify the correct positioning and welding of the integrated circuits.

Electra also offers its own clients a technical support service in order to test more efficiently their electronic boards.

Functional with SW ed HW specifics

Top

Functional testing is made and managed with the help of a data acquiring system and a personal computer.

Case by case, the acquiring systems are created starting from PC interfaced boards able to direct and read digital and analogical I/O.

After defining the hardware part, specific software testing is created.

By means of a software tools, allowed a data presentation and its recording system to be set, which enables the production staff to carry out easier operations and reduce human errors to the minimun.

Thermal testing rooms

Top

Electra has two thermal rooms, one refrigerating cell able to lower its temperature to below -20°C and an oven able to reach an internal temperature of more than 60°C.

Carried out in both cells, according to the various products, are Burn-In cycles and functional testing at controlled temperatures.

Furthermore Electra is equipping itself with hot and cold thermal cycles for powered boards, possibly under functional testing.
