The Automatic Mail Box was an idea of Mr. Michele Carriero and has as its objectives the following:

  • Automation: i.e. faster straightening phases, obliteration and pre-coding of the mail.

  • Obliteration of standardised letters.

  • Guaranteed 24 hours service.

  • Secure mail collection.

  • The possibility to select different methods of payment.

  • Automatic printing in the bar code format.

  • The publication of useful information.

Electra has welcomed this inspirational idea and has started to transform it into technology, offering its own technical and commercial support for the complete running of the project. 
Currently there are two main versions in use. One that is able to accept ordinary mail in standardised format and a second that has a weighing device which enables it to accept registered letters, insured letters and parcels.

Some prototypes have already been installed in San Marino offering users a regular and ongoing service.
